Privacy Policy for Dikr Counter
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Dikr Counter ("the app") is a tasbih/dhikr counter with an optional multiplayer "Rooms" feature for counting together with other people. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how you can delete it.
Data collected
The core "Counters" feature (your personal, local counters) works fully offline and collects no data at all — nothing leaves your device.
The optional "Rooms" feature requires creating an account, and collects:
- Email address — used to sign you in (email/password or Google Sign-In).
- Name — either the display name you enter at sign-up, your Google account's name, or (if neither is set) a name derived from your email address. Used to identify you to other members of a room you join.
- User ID — an internal identifier (Firebase Auth UID) used to link you to the rooms you create or join.
- Room content — the room name, optional description, and per-member counts you or other members enter for a room you create or join.
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, or any data from the local Counters feature.
Why we collect it
- To authenticate you (sign-in/sign-up).
- To power the Rooms feature: showing you the rooms you belong to, who else is in them, and the shared/individual counts.
We do not use your data for advertising, and the app contains no ad SDKs or third-party analytics/tracking libraries.
Who your data is shared with
- Other members of a room you join can see your display name and (if the room admin enables it) your individual count within that room. This is the only "sharing" of personal data the app does with other people.
- Firebase (Google) hosts our authentication and database (Cloud Firestore) as our infrastructure provider. Firebase does not use this data for its own purposes; it is only processed to run the app. See Firebase's privacy policy.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties.
Data security
All data in transit between the app and Firebase is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your data in Cloud Firestore is restricted by security rules so that only you and the members of rooms you belong to can read the relevant data — no data is publicly readable.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app: Rooms tab → account menu (⋮) → Delete account. This removes you from every room you've joined, deletes any room you administer, and permanently deletes your account.
If you're unable to use the in-app option, email abdulrassackak@gmail.com and we will delete your account and data within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
Dikr Counter is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
